Knowing that the whole sordid affair that is Hacienda Luisita can make or break the improbable, incredible, and downright criminal run of Noynoy Aquino for the presidency, the oligarch is paying up the poor families P3,000 per household – according to a unimpeachable source — a mere pittance for the Aquinos but a veritable manna from heaven for the farmers and their families who earn a measly P9.50 a day in this day and age.
It has been a period of relative quiescence in Hacienda Luisita – a lull between storms that will surely peak right before elections.
The “serfs” here have much at stake, as we all know. A Noynoy victory will mean six more years of misery and oppression for the farmers – who have long been denied the land promised to them via agrarian reform. The land was supposed to have been distributed to farmers in 1968!
Let us not forget, too, the elusive justice for those killed in the Hacienda Luisita massacre – a massacre that occurred a week after our favorite Noynoy Aquino, then congressman, was made Deputy House Speaker. Oh, snap.
Noynoy Aquino gives P3,000 to Hacienda Luisita families instead of the justice, amount, and land they deserve. Noynoy also VAGUELY promised to distribute land in 2014 — the same year the agrarian reform law expires.
Earlier actions of Noynoy show his priority is protecting Aquino-Cojuangco interests – including abstaining to vote on the passage of the crucial Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with Reforms (CARPER).
Now isn’t that a doozy? So what are the poor farmers supposed to hang on – the Aquino’s vaunted, non-existent word of honor?
How can we believe this joke called Noynoy, when this own cousin, Fernando Cojuangco, COO of the hacienda, told the New York Times that they have no plans of distributing the land?
It’s so easy to see why the only one “left” for the Liberal Pigs is token sensationalist Rissa Hontiveros – who is probably as sosi as they come yet hides behind her eloquence in Filipino (exactly like Noynoy, right?).
Oh, she’s as fake as those LVs in Greenhills.
And he’s as fake as the hair on Ted Failon’s pate.
The party of old rich nuts and landed pikons will never have a pro-poor agenda because it means letting go of their vast interests.
And that’s why a lot of those expensive cars and SUVs you see on the road sport yellow ribbons. They want the status quo, not change. After all, it’s the status quo that gave them their nice rides to begin with.
The only change Noynoy wants is that he wants to put more money into Kamag-anak, Inc.’s pocket.
